The last 2 years they have had large waves for this event and some awesome waves have been ridden. There looks like they will get a good size swell over there this week , so fingers crossed for the event ,we have some waves .
Would like to thank hobie sup for some great new boards that have been made for hawaii and my new product 7,11 and 8,4 , that im taking to peru after the sunset event there spot on .Anyway ill keep a regular
update of conditions and going ons in my next month of traveling and competeing , you can also follow the

Little Brother of the quiver caddy.......

Things i come across ...........I ran into Mark the inventor of  Quiver Caddy  board carring solutions a while back and he showed me his latest addition to the family "Little Brother" .
This little fellow works a treat , i pop it on the back of my Hobie torque 8,6 sup it was that easy   ,it has a handle to pull it along .I live on a hill just near the beach so i found myself jogging down and back with easy useing the Little Brother ,it takes all of 2 mintues to set up and your away .Check it out Little Brother of  Quiver Caddy  .................Things i come across..........till next time........why walk when you can run.....
Little Brother gets you anywhere with ease

Small little unit pulls apart you can through it your board bag and travel i guess.

Check it out Quiver Caddy as well for more board carring solutions .

What to do ?

Summer in Australia can sometimes mean small waves at your local beach break ,which can really suck   , so i decided to grab a few boards and test some future fins out and  try some different combos and have some fun on my HOBIE sups, my new 8,8  , 7,11 and torque 8,6 .
I was messing round with the size of the back fin , i had a 6 inch back fin with 2 sides of jamie mitchells signature  fins this has to be  my favorite combo for small waves , i like to drive my turns so that fin set up seemed to work great.
6 inch back  futures fin
I tried some am-2 side fins in the 7,11 and a 4.5 futures back fin this gave me release in the tail , in small surf  which was fun .I have found that the jamie mitchell thruster fins to be the best all- round fin in a range of different situations ive been in  this past year ,futures fins have a great range of fins to choose from and hobie
uses them in all there range of boards , im a big believer in fins , in the context that the right fin set up changes a boards total feel and ride , so if you ever have a board that doesnt feel quite right , maybe try a different fin set up,well i had fun swapping fins and boards ,and remember you can make your session fun no matter what the size or conditions thats what is so great about stand up ,so next time you think its not good enough  ,think again grab a board switch up your fins and feel the difference you may learn something new about your board.... cheers ........till next time .........stay wet .

Friends,shoes , peahi {jaws] and sup

MY NEW SHOES

Tahiti last year
If your around a computer today , you may of seen some of the great images that have come out of Hawaii in particular Maui ,peahi .It looked like alot of crew were paddling in ,or trying to , the images were amazing and it makes you think wow , 5 years ago trying  paddle into peahi was not possible?. It made me think like what it takes to get there .I was lucky enough to get a session in over there this time last year after my freinds Jamie Mitchell and James Billy Watson ga

ve me a green light to travel over and catch a couple with them. Without straying from the story too much it was an amazing experience and one i look forward to being able to do again in the future  . Without good friends i would never have got to get a couple , this made me think about all the little things that you go through to travel to  a place like Maui from Australia and you know the one thing that came to mind my shoes ,man a bad pair of shoes on a long air trip are murder, but boy check out my new secret weapon to that . They are a pair of ocean minded shoes i grabbed in california this year ,by far the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn, better than my sanuks i swear , check them out really worth the effort. The latest shots of peahi i didnt see too many sups trying the paddle in  because of the wind ,but im sure the boys had them there ready , Kai Lenny had a dig last year,  anyway the years off to a flying start and im loveing it , happy travels and wave hunting till next time a sup  in 1 foot beachy is better than not getting wet at all.

crazy few weeks

Wow where did the year go , this last month for me has flown right by and now its the middle of december
and im thinking wooooo here comes 2012 , this time of year is exciting in oz because of the chance of
a cyclone swell .Anyway last month it started with the merimbula event down the south east coast of Austaralia and 4 days of surfing ,then home work for a few days then bang it was the sunstate hobie demo
day at kingscliff which was great then another week at work ,then straight to coffs harbour my old stomping ground for some sup surfing , short boarding and finally the 25 km paddle from hell " downwinder" or as i called it just "Down" it was really tough , this week end was looking clear , but with a small 2m south swell kirra boardriders is holding there final monthly comp and well you can't miss these with a bit of swell , so to round out 2011 as usually its 100 mile an hour for us here in the holland house ,
Media Bob and jason surf check merimbula

My favourite board HOBIE 7'11

surf check coffs harbour me and charlie
id have it no other way ,anyway till next time remember being in the water is better than not .....so enjoy it , its great .......cheers justin
